Finding out my husband has cancer

I decided to start this blog to get somethings out. I married my best friend last year on May 1st. It was the best decision I ever made. We have our problems but nothing big. I knew when I decided to marry him that he would be there forever. I finally met someone who knows what commitment means and takes vows as seriously as I do. So of course he is going to be here for a long time and hopefully give me at least a 25 or 30 yr anniversary. Before we got married though I told him he had to at least give stay around long enough for us to celebrate 50 yrs. Yes I know at our age that would be unrealistic. But a girl can hope, right :).

Not to long after we married he started having some health problems and of course kept putting off going to the doctor. Then I finally took things in my own hands and made an appt. for him. Thank goodness I did. We were informed through some test and stuff that he has cancer.
I had a hard time accepting that at first, I thought they have to be wrong. But after seeing the scans they did and everything I guess there is no denying it.
Well this all happened around Thanksgiving 08 so the holidays were really rough...It seems like we just acted like nothing was wrong for a while. Then came the surgery to put a port in his chest, so he could receive Chemo while going through radiation and for more Chemo after his surgery to remove the cancer once he was done with Radiation.

I will write more later...my husband just got home.
